Parents Navigating Estrangement, Conflict & Difficult Family

Open for Enrollment

HBN’s Parents Navigating Estrangement, Conflict & Difficult Family Relationships Group provides a compassionate, nonjudgmental space for mothers and fathers experiencing challenging, strained, emotionally painful, or estranged relationships with their children.

Parents may find themselves navigating rejection, emotional distance, ongoing conflict, manipulation, guilt, blame, criticism, verbal or emotional mistreatment, controlling behaviors, or interactions that leave them feeling emotionally exhausted, confused, or questioning themselves. These experiences can be especially painful when a parent continues to love and care about their child while also recognizing the need for healthier boundaries.

Difficult parent-child relationships can bring complicated emotions, including grief, sadness, anger, guilt, loneliness, worry, helplessness, and a sense of loss. Parents may struggle with questions about what happened, whether they could have done something differently, how to respond to hurtful behavior, or how to maintain hope while protecting their own emotional well-being.

This group provides a supportive environment to process these experiences, recognize unhealthy relationship patterns, strengthen boundaries, develop healthier coping strategies, and work toward greater self-compassion and emotional stability.

Through guided discussion, therapeutic support, reflection, and connection with other parents who understand, participants can explore how to navigate difficult family dynamics without losing themselves in the process.

HBN takes a holistic and integrative approach, recognizing that challenging relationships with children—whether adolescent or adult—can affect emotional wellness, self-esteem, relationships, daily functioning, and overall quality of life.

The goal is not to assign blame or pressure parents toward reconciliation. Instead, the group offers a safe space to explore what healing can look like, whether that means rebuilding a relationship, creating healthier boundaries, accepting distance, or finding peace with circumstances that may not be within their control.

You deserve support too. This group offers a place to be heard, understood, and supported while learning how to care for yourself through difficult family experiences.
