About My Clients
My clients are individuals experiencing social anxiety, communication challenges, and other forms of anxiety related to heightened sensitivity, neurodiversity, sensory differences, and family trauma. I support them in exploring who they are and finding ways to live more authentically, free from societal pressure.
My Background and Approach
After graduating from Musashino Art University in Tokyo Japan, I moved to the US where I earned my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis in Art Therapy from Norte Dame de Namur University in San Francisco. I have extensive clinical experience treating children and adults dealing with anxiety and depression, acculturative stress (conflict between personal/cultural values and societal pressures), low support ASD/developmental disorders, and life transitions. In my therapy sessions, I tailor my treatments to each individual, utilizing art therapy, psychodynamic therapy, humanistic/person-centered approach, play therapy, ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), and attachment-based therapy. I am also continuously receiving training and supervision in intersubjective self psychological perspectives, and gaining extensive training specifically in treating the Asian American community and immigrant population.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone has the capacity to heal, but that the path toward growth is unique to each individual. I focus on understanding my clients’ inner worlds while providing a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where they can safely explore their experiences. From there, I tailor treatment to each person’s needs, remaining flexible so they can live more authentically. https://www.bunkaiwa.com/post/is-therapist-going-to-therapy
