About My Clients
Most of my clients come to therapy struggling in relationships with others and within themselves. Some are processing transitions such as ending a partnership, being a parent, deconstructing a faith tradition, revisiting a traumatic childhood, or grieving the past. I often work with men struggling in their personal relationships and women on the verge of some form of burn out. Most of my work is with individuals who feel they “should” be further along in life than they currently are.
My Background and Approach
Having darker seasons in life is part of being human. I want to normalize and support these more difficult times. I use Lifespan Integration, Internal Family Systems, and trauma informed care in my sessions as well as harm reduction for those misusing drugs and alcohol. We will explore where you are getting stuck, what experiences shaped your identity, and where culture is defining your sense of self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My goal is to help increase your self-awareness and to feel more confident with difficult emotions. You can start to feel more open and less uncertain of yourself which can free up space for creativity, acceptance, and hope. In therapy I use trauma-informed care which establishes a safe and supportive environment that validates the effects of trauma on your life. I emphasize the importance of trust building, listening to yourself, and empowering you to feel more safe and grounded within yourself. I also believe that healing is not a destination but rather a journey. We are all beautifully complicated and complex, and we can take as much time as we need to work through the difficult seasons of life.
