About My Clients
I specialize in working with adolescents, college students, and young adults who struggle with anxiety, but have experience and am willing to work with whatever context you present with given we are a good fit. I have found that My "ideal" client comes to therapy willing to open up, work hard, and commit themself to change, pivoting towards what really matters to them deep in their heart.
My Background and Approach
My post-graduate training background has been primarily focused on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), though I "borrow" a variety of strategies and ideas from other traditions as well. I believe that the human person is far too complicated to be described by a single model of therapy, so I am careful to be flexible in the way I conceptualize my clients' stories and presenting problems. I have a fairly extensive background in treating anxiety disorders, specifically Generalized Anxiety Disorders, Social Anxiety Disorder, Specific Phobias, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, as well as Adjustment Disorders and Mood Disorders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Embracing a faith-based philosophy is important to me, since I believe that making sense of our experience is only valuable if we have some sort of spiritual faith to ground us. I am Christian, but have worked well with people of all faith backgrounds.
