About My Clients
While I have worked with a diverse array of clients, the individuals that I work with often reach out due to struggle in relationships, staying present in day to life and/or tasks, self-esteem or reactivity. Part of my role as therapist is to serve as a guide as you get in tune with the parts of you that are reacting or responding in ways that may inherently be protective, but most often are unintentionally and sometimes unknowingly creating problems for you in day to day life.
My Background and Approach
I bring a trauma-informed, direct approach to therapy, and also hold the belief that you are the expert and have an internal compass and guidance that knows best. I work with clients as they increase their confidence in their own feelings and increase awareness of their bodily sensations. All of this is done at the pace of the client. While I tend to have an integrative approach a few of the central therapeutic modalities that guide my practice are somatic (mind-body connection), internal family systems and mindfulness based cognitive therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you are the expert, and my role is to guide as you gain more access to your inner confidence, courage and compassion. I believe that the mind and body are strongly connected and this often guides my work with clients. Each client's journey is unique and it is a privilege to join with clients as they navigate their inner and outer worlds, and increase their overall connectedness.
