About My Clients

Walking (or drowning) in grief from any source makes it hard to get anything done let alone enjoy anything. Sometimes we go from feeling way too much pain to feeling nothing and being numb. Grief is a huge transition that no one wants to go through but we all face it. You're in the right spot to get help and start sorting through this complex mess, start finding what works for you and what doesn't and getting some relief from this huge flood of stress & emotions.

My Background and Approach

I am a griever, just like you. I carry it with me and it never leaves, but I am able to function & smile at memories now. I've had to put in the work to move forward and honor the people (and animals) in my life that have passed and the non-death losses I have experienced as well. My experiences have guided my practice and how I do therapy. I have seen many losses from death of a baby to a great-grandparent, to loss of health, mobility, finances and jobs. My goal for my clients is first, to help them figure out what their goal is. Being able to smile again? Less sadness or guilt? Less intrusive thoughts and memories? More energy? Memorializing and honoring loved ones? Sorting through family troubles? For the past 7 years, I have helped people process their grief and find the tools that work for them (it's not a one size fits all), to live their life with the grief but still in a meaningful way that takes up less negative space so happiness and new memories can be created.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My personal belief is that grief is the measure of how much someone or something meant to us. One of my most favorite songs growing up was 'The Dance' by Garth Brooks. But it wasn't until I was deep into my grieving process as an adult that I really understood what the song meant and just how powerful it is. "I could have missed the pain But I'd have had to miss the dance" I mean, really - how much amazing and good things in life would we miss out on to avoid being a griever? All the good stuff, all the stuff that really matters. So, while grief is one of the most painful and difficult experiences I have ever been through, I am so thankful for it, because it means I had something really special, something worth grieving over. I want to help you work through this grief, you loved and now you're grieving but the love doesn't stop, I can help you process this, have relief and honor your loved one at the same time.
