About My Clients
I have experience working with clients of all ages and work well with clients who are interested in investigating the ways that their learned attachment styles impact relationships and decisions made today. I work with clients struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma and more and we search for understanding of those experiences while also paying attention the ways that the society in which we live impacts our decisions.
My Background and Approach
My approach is typically called "person-centered" - you will be in charge of how much we talk about and when we talk about it. I may guide you, asking questions, and bringing curiosity to certain situations but I will never push you to talk about something that feels like "too much". We'll ease our way in. I blend a mixture of somatic, attachment and cognitive methods based on what you, the client needs at that time. At times I may provide education about what's happening within your brain/body or suggest a tool to use when at home. Most often we will work together to create a compassionate, accepting, non-judgemental space in which we focus on your needs - whatever they are at that time.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that it is possible to live a life of balance in which stress and distress feel like something that you can cope with rather than something that overwhelms or overshadows the possibility of life. I also believe that we live in a society that does not make this possible for everyone and work daily to create a space in which you can seek help safely.
