About My Clients
Have you been curious or interested in creating a mindfulness practice? I enjoy giving clients resources and tools to help them manage life's stressors. I encourage clients to use compassion for self as I assist them in gaining deeper insight to their behaviors and emotions.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and EMDR trained. I began my career in child welfare and worked with children in the specialized foster care system, focusing on trauma-informed care. I completed my postgraduate internship in an outpatient mental health clinic and focused on working with individuals, children, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and trauma disorders. Prior to starting a private practice, I was involved in forensic social work where I assessed and treated acute psychosis and those experiencing suicide ideation in a correctional setting.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in treating the whole person. I find that the mind and body are connected. I am an advocate for physical activity and healthy nutrition practices. I find that when clients begin to incorporate physical activity in their daily routine they report improved sleep, improvements in mood and decrease in presenting symptoms.
