I specialize in the trifold of people pleasing, perfectionism, & boundary setting. This space is filled with high achievers who, though have great intentions, deal with several stressors & pressures which affect their quality of life. Below are several indications you struggle with poor boundaries, people pleasing and/or a perfectionistic mindset.
My Background and Approach
I strongly lean on the teachings of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) during sessions. CBT is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, & behaviors. The main idea behind CBT is that negative thoughts & beliefs can lead to negative emotions and problematic behaviors. CBT helps individuals identify & challenge these negative thoughts & beliefs, & replace them with more balanced & realistic ones. Via therapy, I hope to provide a safe & empathic space, to foster a relationship based on trust & respect, & to listen to your concerns & anxieties. Asking for help can be intimidating & overwhelming. I hope to provide a non-judgmental & safe space where you feel understood, respected, & heard. Throughout sessions, together, we can recognize counterproductive thought patterns, nurture inner strength, & learn new coping strategies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a recovering people pleaser, I've struggled with constantly putting others’ needs before one's own, saying “yes” even when it’s not convenient, & avoiding conflicts at all costs. This lead to a perfectionistic mindset which pushed me to hold myself to impossibly high standards and feeling like I could never good enough. This behavior & thought pattern eventually lead to feelings of burnout and resentment, because I started to feel like I was sacrificing my personal happiness for others.Through my own therapeutic journey, I learned how to recognize counterproductive thought patterns, nurture my inner strength, & learn new coping strategies. I hope to meet you where you are in your journey & allow you the safe space to explore what triggered the people pleasing patterns, perfectionistic mindset, and poor boundaries in your life. My approach includes me sharing my unbiased perspective & sharing tools & strategies that will allow you to reframe & relearn. Looking forward to chatting!
