About My Clients
I am passionate about working with individuals and families who want to explore identity, life transitions, grief and loss, feelings of being stuck or silenced, and trauma ("big" and "small"). A portion of my therapeutic studies has focused on working with AAPI/APISA-identifying people as well as military members and veterans.
My Background and Approach
I aim to empower clients to be their most authentic selves. I find somatic work and Internal Family Systems to be especially helpful in this process, as these models can help us learn how to listen and respond to your system, eventually building your ability to make choices that lead toward a more engaged and enlivened life. That said, I am committed to integrating an anti-oppressive practice, and I will work with you to co-create an approach that best aligns with your beliefs, values, gifts, imperfections, family history, culture, and humanity.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we can only be fully understood within the contexts we inhabit—our inner worlds, family relationships, cultures, community networks, and larger systems we navigate all profoundly shape our wellbeing. My experience as a biracial woman has informed my way of being in the world--through my own therapy, I have come to better understand my own experiences of depression, loneliness, stuckness, and existing in two worlds, as invitations to move toward living an authentic life that respects my individual needs as well as the needs of my family. While I trust that each person holds within them the capacity for transformation, I also recognize that existing within many-layered contexts can be overwhelming. I view therapy as one way that we can slow down, pay attention, and deepen our sense agency, freedom, and belonging. Our work together can be collaborative, soft, and yet gently challenging. I will always aim to meet you with compassion and keep it real.
