About My Clients
I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Sage (they/them). Have you ever felt outcast from those around you, or that your value as a person is in some way diminished by the intersectionality of your identities and how you present to the world? You may feel that nobody would understand -you are not alone. As a non-binary, pan, ace, disabled therapist, I have often been where you are right now. When you come to see me, you will be met with non-judgment, empathy, connection, and compassion.
My Background and Approach
My approach is integrative - I believe that everyone deserves an individualized plan to support healing and other goals. I work with the LGBTQIA+ community, eating disorders, chronic pain, kink/poly/sex workers, PTSD, self-harm, and suicidality. I incorporate IFS, DBT, trauma-informed CBT, Somatic healing, and art and dance. I am a Licensed Social Worker earning clinical hours under the supervision of Kai Thigpen. I have 7 years of experience in the field working in crisis, creating and running support groups, holding psychoeducation trainings, and as a therapist in a group private practice. As a person who has experienced harm due to our structural oppression, I seek to hold a safe space for others who experience trauma stemming from systemic issues. You are always welcome to come exactly as you are.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as a non-binary, genderfluid, pan, ace, disabled white human, and I am passionate about holding a safe space for us all. I chose to obtain my degree in social work because I believe in social justice and advocacy. I started an animal rescue over a decade ago, where I first started learning about the suicide rate in veterinarians. This led me to volunteer at crisis lines and sparked my passion for helping folx through trauma, self-harm, and suicidality. I believe in anti-oppressive practices, Health at Every Size, Intuitive Eating, and De-colonizing therapy. No one is "too much" and everyone is encouraged to come just as they are.
