About My Clients

Sometimes things happen, and we are forced to deal with things we never thought we could. At my core I identify as a trauma therapist, my goal for my clients is to find the root of what prevents us from living and being our most authentic selves. When we survive hardship our body holds on to tools that got us through even if they no longer serve us. Sometimes they are perfect for the situation, other times they can make things worse.

My Background and Approach

I am a Certified Death Doula, experienced Spiritual Counselor, and member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. Together we will slow things down enough to find what works best for you and change reactions to responses. Outside the area of trauma, my practice focuses on grief and loss and sex therapy. In the realm of sex therapy, my area of focus is "non-traditional" relationships, Polyamory, ENM, and kink.  I summarize my style as a post-modern antiracist, decolonization, queer, feminist approach. Western culture has created several narratives that impact how we practice psychology and see ourselves. I believe it is our job to look at these things with a critical eye and break down what is perception and what is the reality for each of us individually so we can inform our communities together. Taking a holistic and integrative approach. With a strong emphasis, on somatic experiencing through a trauma-focused lens and in-the-moment processing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that sometimes we are not prepared for what is thrown at us. In those experiences, we learn to adapt and cope, and sometimes those skills often stay with us for life. At the same time, I believe sometimes we outgrow those ways of coping and adapting. And eventually, we need to create new ways of being to thrive. I truly feel this plays into how we show up in the world, how we react vs respond. It comes from a space of survival, but it's difficult to move away from the things that have moved us to a specific point. Growth and change are difficult, but not impossible. The key is acknowledging when the time is to grow.
