Not all grief comes from a death loss, and not all loss impacts us the same way. Any end creates a space for grief, and often Western culture does not allow us to flow through grief as we need to. Grief itself is an experience that often doesn't leave us, we simply learn how to carry it differently. Witnessing grief involves a combination of spirit and ritual to flow through us so that we can all grow from hardship.

When assessing trauma we actively try to avoid re-traumatization, integrate knowledge about trauma into procedures, and practices.
