About My Clients
I help teens and young adults who are seeking to strengthen their connection to self and build confidence, self esteem, and resilience. I acknowledge the effects of trauma on the brain and body, including how it impacts the way we view ourselves and move through our world. My goal is to create a safe space for you to explore and get curious about your own healing journey.
My Background and Approach
In my integrative and trauma-informed therapy practice, I utilize a variety of methods and techniques. This includes somatic (body-based) interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) interventions, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and person-centered therapy. I also recognize the power of Polyvagal Theory and lifestyle changes to create a flexible and adaptable nervous system. I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology, and Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I have experience working with college students at a campus counseling clinic, as well as adolescents and adults in a group private practice. In addition to my work as a counselor, I am also a licensed speech language pathologist; however, I am not actively working in this field. I have a wide range of experience working with children, teens, and adults with a wide range of abilities and needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have a strong passion for holistic living and the mind/body connection, personally and professionally. Actively practicing a variety of forms of yoga for 7 years has taught me about the inherent wisdom that our bodies carry. I work with the body and mind together in my practice as a therapist.
