About My Clients
I work with those struggling with thoughts and patterns of behavior that continue to negatively impact lives. There may be experiences of loss, overwhelm, or hopelessness. Therapy can be a major step toward overcoming any emotional and behavioral obstacles that can help one live a more rich and vibrant life. Using my training, expertise, and experience, I help clients find their way to relief, purpose, and happiness with compassion, insight, and tools to heal.
My Background and Approach
I utilize EMDR and psychotherapy within an environment of acceptance and collaboration. Using integrative, psycho-dynamic, and trauma-focused modalities to tailor treatment to each individual’s unique struggles and needs. I gently challenge and support clients in growing unique strengths, resilience, and knowledge to overcome the obstacles that create roadblocks to well-being. Furthermore, I am trained in crisis management, psychological first-aid, Internal Family Systems, Gestalt Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills, and Mindfulness Therapy. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA from Central Methodist University, obtaining a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling. My completed practicum and internship was with the National Suicide Hotline and University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy, respectively. Furthermore, I am certified with the National Board for Certified Counselors.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am committed to enhancing the well-being and quality of life of my clients through the use of evidence-based practices, competent utilization of clinical tools and modalities, and personal continuation of education in the field of counseling and trauma recovery. I am dedicated to honoring diversity, advocacy of mental health and social justice, and modeling the importance of mindfulness and self-care. I believe all healthcare professionals owe it to their clients to commit to multicultural competence, trauma-focused mindset, equality, and ongoing training/education in effective, up-to-date skills and practices.
