About My Clients

Most of the clients that we work with seek us out because they are struggling with an eating disorder, disordered eating, or wanting to heal their relationship with food and body. Many are in fat bodies or have other marginalized identities and have been harmed by previous providers. Often our clients have experienced complex trauma. We are licensed in many states, so clients often contact us because there aren't any local providers who meet their need for fat positive, social justice, HAES care

My Background and Approach

I am a psychologist, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Supervisor, and Certified Body Trust® provider. I have spent my career working with people struggling with all forms of eating disorders, disordered eating and those wanting to break free from diet culture. I view myself as a therapist and activist. I believe that recommending diets or weight loss is not only harmful; it is unethical. Many of my clients are still dieting when they come to see me. I want to hear all about my client's experiences and we sit together in the painful and challenging spaces. I believe in body autonomy and respect everyone's right to decide what to do with their body. Anti-fat bias harms us all and I am no exception. I have struggled with various eating disorders and part of my healing has included recognizing that my body has never been the problem. I am honored when clients trust me with their story and we identify how they have been harmed by systems of oppression and that it's not their fault.
