About My Clients
Seeking therapy is an act of courage. If you're reading this, good for you for starting your healing journey by seeking the right-fit therapist! I offer individual therapy to adults and teenagers, and I serve BIPOC and LGBTQAI2+ communities. Through my work I often support folks who struggle with anxiety, body image issues, boundaries, shame/guilt, and recovery from trauma and PTSD. I work best with folks who are ready for change and willing to engage with the work of healing through therapy.
My Background and Approach
As a Somatic Therapist, I provide a body-oriented approach to therapy. Engaging with your body in therapy can have many benefits, such as reducing stress, tension, PTSD symptoms, and more. Human relationships, including your relationship with yourself, are central to my work as a clinician. In our sessions I will support you, challenge you, listen to you, reflect with you, joke with you, share with you, be present and engaged with you, and offer you clear and actionable next steps. I view the therapeutic relationship as exactly that: a safe, boundaried and non-judgmental human relationship dedicated to supporting and uplifting your mental health. I also consider the larger context of life experiences an integral part of our work together. Social justice principles and liberation psychology are foundational to my clinical approach, and I choose to hold space in therapy for the intersectionality of our experiences. My fee is $175 per session, and I see clients on a weekly basis.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
If you are considering working with me, I believe that it is relevant for you to have a sense of me both professionally and personally. While I hold clear boundaries as a clinician, I also know that we are human, and you and I will relate as humans as we work together. I name some of my identities here to offer you a little more context around who I am. My identities include cisgender, woman of color, mixed race, queer, middle-aged, animist, recovered from disordered eating, daughter of a blended family with an immigrant parent, and trauma survivor. You are welcome to ask me about what I have written here, or other aspects of my identity in consultation or in session. If I am available to share more I will let you know, and we can discuss further in service of our work together.
