About My Clients
We truly transform when we allow someone to see and hear all of us. Trauma is a part of many of our stories. You may find it difficult for you to feel happy with your achievements and quiet your inner critic. Early on, some of us learn to deny our true selves to stay safe. It is possible to come home to ourselves. I believe the client is the expert on their story and I am grateful to sit with them and walk with them on their journey to healing.
My Background and Approach
I believe everyone possesses a core self. Many times, we look up and realize we are not sure who we are, or how we lost our way. I am not afraid to sit in the depths of my client’s pain and create safety for the wide range of emotions that take up space in the room. I approach healing work through self-compassion and IFS (Internal Family Systems) informed approach. Building a solid and healthy relationship with my clients is crucial. I am passionate about helping others through depression, anxiety, perfectionism, codependency, relationship issues, OCD, boundary setting and sexual assault. As a black woman, I welcome those navigating complex racial climates and the perspectives required to honor those experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, I believe that healing happens in safe, authentic, and nonjudgmental spaces. I’m passionate about helping people navigate life transitions, trauma, anxiety, and relationship challenges through a lens of curiosity, compassion, and deep respect for individual stories. My values are rooted in social justice, inclusion, and dignity for all. I affirm LGBTQIA+ identities, support Black Lives Matter, and believe mental health care should be accessible, equitable, and culturally responsive. I bring an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed lens to my work and remain committed to ongoing learning and unlearning—especially when it comes to systems of privilege, race, and power. Outside of the therapy room, I care deeply about youth mental health, suicide prevention, and mindfulness in education. I’ve supported programs that center emotional well-being in schools and believe that our communities thrive when we invest in collective healing and care.
