I am an Asian-American woman who grew up in China, Australia, and the US. After completing high school in Australia, I moved back to the US for college and found sociology classes related to race, class, and gender to be the most thought-provoking and inspiring. For my graduate degree I returned to the University of California, Berkeley and obtained a Master’s degree in Social Welfare (MSW) with a concentration in Community Mental Health. MSW programs have an emphasis on social justice issues, and this is important to me. Cultural competency is an integral part of my work, and I strive to create a safe, empathic, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all clients.
