About My Clients
I provide therapy for clients over 18 years old, with a focus on body liberation from eating disorders and the guilt and shame that often accompany disordered eating. I click with clients who have a history with disordered eating and have stopped or are ready to stop dieting. I’m honored to learn and grow alongside my clients, and to incorporate the principles of intuitive eating, radical acceptance, and social justice as we undo our own fatphobia throughout the course of our relationship.
My Background and Approach
My own path through diet culture and disordered eating led me to become a therapist. I graduated from Simmons University with my Master’s in Social Work in winter 2021. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a nutritionist doing health and wellness coaching. I became a therapist because I want people to know they’re not alone in working through body shame and trauma. Like many people growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, I’ve had my own body issues for decades. Unlearning the messaging about bodies that are deemed worthy and acceptable is a lifelong process for me and my clients. Support and community is essential in this work! My approach is rooted in body liberation, narrative therapy, and systems work.
