About My Clients

I have experience working with adults of all ages, gender identities, sexualities, and with a wide range of religious and cultural backgrounds. Many of my clients experienced trauma during childhood or later in life; part of treatment is understanding how this history impacts current problems and functioning. I love working with clients who are curious about themselves, open to gentle feedback and trying new strategies, and willing to work toward acknowledging and harnessing their strengths.

My Background and Approach

I am a clinical psychologist with over ten years' experience at the VA Boston Healthcare System treating substance use, trauma-related disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders. I have worked in outpatient and residential settings. Most recently I managed a transitional residence for women recovering from PTSD, substance use disorders, and/or other mental health disorders. I have provided supervision, mentorship, and professional training to masters and doctoral level psychology students. In my professional life outside the therapy room, I work to promote mental health equity and public practices that support universal well-being. Community is hugely important to me. I place high value on my personal and professional relationships. I strive to live with genuineness, courage, irreverence, and humor, and bring this approach to my work.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
