About My Clients
I work with highly motivated people who are struggling with beliefs around "not enough" or experience pain in relationships due to codependent patterns that result from relational trauma. Whether it is work, love, family or relationship with self...we will begin to better understand and process the deeper core messages that keep you in an unconscious repetition of unwanted experiences. I am here to assist you in unlocking the inner freedom, ease and joy that you deserve.
My Background and Approach
First and foremost I am relational, which means that I believe the therapeutic relationship is collaborative and that I trust your knowing about yourself. We all need outside perspective and someone to see and hear us in a way that makes sense of our unconscious patterns. I am here to be a guide and use my expertise in depth, trauma informed care, and developmental psychology to help relieve you of the burden of trying to understand yourself on your own! It is my belief that our early childhood experiences are often a roadmap for the blocks we experience in adulthood. When we focus in on those critical periods in development and where there might have been "misses" by our parents/caregivers we can identify particular coping styles that we had to use to adapt to our family system. These adaptations were very important when we were kids, but often become problematic and painful once we are adults. The wonderful thing is that there are ways to heal these adaptive styles!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that one of the most painful aspects of our society is the belief that one person can be better than another. Social media is a perfect example of how we idealize and then devalue people based on gender, race, wealth, age, religious beliefs etc. It is my desire that we can live in a world where we stand eye to eye and heart to heart with each other and promote the happiness and equality of all people. I say this while understanding that we cannot "white wash" the very real social and racial injustices in our culture. I believe that as a white woman who has been afforded privilege that I did not earn, I must be extra attuned to advocacy and checking my own unconscious biases. Spiritually speaking, I believe that faith is an important part of dealing with the existential angst that we as humans all experience. I do not hold one form of spirituality above another and only wish that religion would not be a way to alienate or limit anyones autonomy or civil rights.
