About My Clients
Are you feeling overwhelmed, lost, or stuck ? Do you have difficulties feeling good about yourself or find your self wanting to just hide sometimes? The client's I work with are often amazing individuals experiencing social anxiety, self-judgement, shame, fear, and loneliness. I also often work with people who feel like they are different, misunderstood, or who have experienced bullying in childhood or adulthood.
My Background and Approach
If you have struggled with anxiety, ADHD symptoms, or trauma for a long time you may find yourself questioning if things will get better. Painful thoughts, memories, judgment from others, or feelings of shame may be causing you to hide or limit the goals you set for yourself. Despite all of this, you took the time to read this which is brave and shows hope. Many people feel better and experience change from therapy with time, effort, and being open minded about trying new things. I have been a therapist for over 10 years. My clinical style is warm, supportive, goal oriented, and empowering. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques to help clients. They include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Brain Spotting, Play Therapy, Mindfulness Skills, Person Centered Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe change and healing can happen with the right support, resources, and treatment. Everyone's journey looks different and you should be empowered to do things at a pace that makes sense for you. Individuals seeking therapy need therapists that they connect with, feel safe with, and that help them work on the things that matter to them. I believe that the most effective treatment occurs when people feel respected, understood, empowered and hopeful. I understand there are many resources people utilize to help with difficult emotions and their healing process (e.g., creating art or music, exercising, writing, finding meaning through work or activities, spiritual beliefs and practices, listening to music, dancing, baking, self-care practices, spending time with loved ones etc...). I value all of these things, will support the resources that matter to you.
