About My Clients
I help adults and adolescents seeking treatment for eating disorders, body image, grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD. I can help you have a better relationship with yourself and with your body. I take a depth-oriented approach to helping you resolve early trauma, release shame, and develop a more secure way of relating to yourself and to others. The more deeply you understand yourself, the more you will be empowered to make healthier choices and live more present in the moment.
My Background and Approach
I understand that each individual’s struggle is unique and I seek to tailor therapeutic support in this way. I tend to be pretty active in session. My main approach is psychodynamic and, when appropriate, I incorporate some MBT and ACT techniques. I am passionate about attachment theory and believe that healing our bonds make us stronger. We will explore how you relate with yourself and with others, and help you be aware of those patterns so you can heal, meet your needs, decrease your symptoms, and have more self-compassion. I provide a judgment-free space where you can safely explore your past experiences and develop new ways of being and thinking that will allow you to heal, grow, be vulnerable and understand yourself better so you can live the life that you want. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Choosing to begin therapy can be difficult and make us feel vulnerable. As a multicultural therapist, researcher and professor I have a great interest in learning more about the way our mind works and seek to further my knowledge to help my clients. I love helping people who are feeling stuck and want to have a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
