About My Clients
So why do you feel this way when it is supposed to be the most wonderful time of your life? Is everyone telling you its ok to be a little blue? Do you feel depressed, disappointed in the way life is going? Imagine a life filled with joy again, life like it used to be. Often this may mean learning skills that can help you deal with depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief/loss, chronic pain or a new medical diagnosis or improve your relationship/marriage. I love working with women from 15-80.
My Background and Approach
I have been a Clinical Social Worker for 10 years. I received my Bachelor of Social Work from Meredith College and my Masters of Social Work from East Carolina University. I worked for many years within the medical field before beginning my career as a LCSW. As an LCSW, I have experience working with diverse populations in community mental health agencies as well as medical social work where I worked with clients that were experiencing physical rehabilitation from medical conditions and aging issues. I believe that therapy should be person centered as one particular modality may not be right for you. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, and Motivational Interviewing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone has a right to happy and healthy. Our mental health Is a very important part of our overall health. I think that it is important for everyone to have a place where you can find a trusted person to talk too. I can offer a safe nonjudgemental environment where you can be you!. My hope is that together we can start on the path to healing. You will find me open, honest, compassionate and accepting. if you wish to know more about me, send me a message.
