About My Clients
My hope is to create a space built on trust and collaboration. The goal is to help you find areas of growth and strength within your life. The therapeutic process should be adaptable, human, creative, and it should actually WORK. Because of this, I work very well with kids & teens, and also with adults who want the benefits of therapy without feeling stuffy or over-medicalized.
My Background and Approach
I believe in an integrative approach that addresses the complexities of your separate life while also recognizing the impact of the environment around you. I can help look at how your choices serve you and also understand what is your responsibility versus that of others like family and community. In addition, I value the importance of the mind-body connection and using experiential activities to keep the fun in building insight and motivating towards progress. I have my AM degree (equivalent to an MSW) from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in many settings including schools, in-home services, and outpatient and community-based settings. My training includes Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I am licensed in both Maryland and Washington DC so I can see clients online from either location!
