About My Clients
My clients often want support around repeated urges, looping or spiraling anxieties, and memories of stressful or traumatic events that will not go away. Similarly, many of my clients also talk about rigid ways of thinking, including high expectations of themselves and others and all-or-nothing thinking, which greatly limits flexibility in our lives. These presenting issues may include OCD, anxiety, PTSD or body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs).
My Background and Approach
Instead of teaching you how to avoid, or further distract yourself from, these thoughts, we can work together to change your relationship with your mind. We will do this work by using evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We will work together to develop a warm, open and collaborative relationship, and use humor, and at times irreverence, to help assist with the hard work of therapy. Contact me to learn more about how we can work together to help you change your relationship with your mind, and move forward with it, instead of fighting against it.
