I enjoy helping adults find new ways to reduce anxiety, depression or trauma responses.
Clinical Social Worker in Orange, MA
My commitment to intersectional feminism is intentional and strong. My goal in feminist therapy is to help strengthen and empower your unique voice and experience, help identify advocacy actions, and process the ways our society impacts women/womxn. I believe you are the expert of your life and work to find ways to enhance your life while understanding how internal and external factors affect growth.
When experiencing mental health concerns, you may start to internalize messages that something is wrong with you. Narrative approaches help switch those messages and separate your core self from the depression, anxiety or trauma. We will work together to find new ways to understand your experiences and create new story lines that focus on strength and resilience. You are the author of your life!
We all have thought patterns that have been engrained that may limit growth or lead to anxiety. CBT work can help examine where those thoughts and beliefs came from and how those thoughts impact your actions. We then will work to create new, alternative thoughts and actions to help ease sadness or fear. We will work on enhancing your ability to cope with difficult emotions and create new habits to manage those experiences.
Experiencing trauma and its aftermath is challenging. You are not at fault for those experiences and deserve the opportunity to find peace and healing. I have completed extra training for trauma informed care because of my commitment to provide the highest level of dignified and safe care. We will work together to enhance safety, explore the trauma narratives, and find ways to empower your voice.
You may be feeling sad, worthless, hopeless and like life has no purpose. The depression leads you to reduce engaging with positive supports or pleasurable activities. Together, we will work to challenge automatic thoughts, find ways to enhance your quality of life and begin to find contentment and happiness.
We live in anxiety provoking times. You may find yourself worrying constantly or that your life is out of control. We will work on fact finding, examining cognitive distortions and creating new messages to counter the worry. We’ll also work on developing relaxation and mindfulness practices to help calm heightened emotional states, allowing you to relax and ground yourself.
