About My Clients

My clients are emerging adults & millenials within the LGBTQ+ community. I work with those navigating experiences of stuckness and uncertainty, many who feel behind their peers at this point in life or unhappy with where they're at. My clients seek therapy for experiences with anxiety, which may look like worry, overthinking, comparison, and perfectionism. For LGBTQ+ clients, therapy can be a space to find insight and self discovery, where all aspects of your identity are welcomed and explored.

My Background and Approach

I became drawn to this work upon experiencing the benefits of therapy myself. I understand how it can feel to be in your shoes, the uncertainty and questioning - can this person really get me? It's an important question to ask yourself as you're considering where to begin. To me, therapy is a trusting and real relationship where we can explore all parts of ourselves. I believe that in a supportive and non-judgmental relationship, we gain permission to become our most authentic selves. Together we will gently explore patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that are no longer serving you. We will consider how they got there, and what you might like to replace them with. I bring authenticity, humor, and a deep sense of compassion to my therapy practice. My theoretical approach is integrative, informed by Rogerian theory and mindful self compassion. My style is rooted in attachment and psychodynamic theory and the humanistic model. I also use tools from CBT.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a queer therapist, I feel strong connection when working with folks from the community. I work from a social justice framework that recognizes intersecting systems of oppression and their impact on trauma and healing. I believe it's important to name my identities as a white, queer, cisgender, middle-class, and able-bodied therapist and acknowledge how they hold privilege. I'm aware of how privileged therapists have historically harmed marginalized folks through discrimination and mistrust and hold myself accountable to impact progress as part of the greater mental health field. I feel privileged to work alongside my clients as a trusted partner and collaborator. I don't impose my own agenda or advice about what you should do, but rather remain curious and collaborate with you on where you'd like to go. I welcome questions, invite frequent consent, and acknowledge my own human imperfection with humility.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
