About My Clients
I am passionate about providing affirming care to other members of my communities. I have lived experiences relating to the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodiversity, fat liberation and chronic illness. Sometimes it is just nice to work with someone who gets you and your communities. I work with individuals ages 15+.
My Background and Approach
I work from a holistic, client-centered perspective. I believe that my client is the expert in their own live and that my role is to provide guidance and support in their desired growth. My aim is to see my clients as an entire person and approach them as such without focusing solely on symptoms or a diagnosis. Treatment and sessions are individualized to each client and may include expressive arts, talk therapy, sandtray and EMDR.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
People do not have to be perfect to be deserving of love, respect, happiness and fulfillment. We continue to learn, grow and change throughout our lifetimes and are always able to discover new things about ourselves, other people, and the world around us. One of the greatest adventures in life is discovering who we are and who we will be in each season of our life. Everyone is a work in progress, constantly growing and changing, but it’s important that we remember that who we are in this moment is amazing as well. Many people come to counseling with the idea that they are broken but I don't believe that's true, they just aren’t quite finished yet. There are reasons that we are the way we are, and sometimes that stops working for us, it doesn’t mean we are broken just ready for change. My goal is to help support and guide you as you undertake that journey.
