About My Clients
People come to therapy carrying all sorts of things...worry, overwhelm, relationship difficulties, an unnamable sense that something is off. You may be managing well on the surface, or perhaps what's happening inside has started to spill into important areas of your life. It's possible you have a lot of insight into yourself and your circumstances, or maybe you're unsure what's gotten you here. These are all valid places to begin.
My Background and Approach
I practice from a relational, insight-oriented perspective. In our work, we’ll pay attention not only to what’s happening in your life now, but also to the patterns that shape how you experience yourself, your emotions, and your relationships over time. At the same time, therapy isn’t only reflective. Depending on your needs, our work may include practical support, emotional regulation strategies, and ways of approaching difficult situations differently. I also attend to the connection between mind and body. Learning to notice your physical responses can help you understand yourself more clearly and feel more grounded in your daily life. My practice is informed by advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy along with education from NYU and Barnard College, and a visiting scholar appointment at University of Oxford. I'm licensed to practice independently in New York State.
