About My Clients
I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem, and substance use. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered. Together, we'll build on your strengths, develop practical coping skills, and work toward meaningful, lasting growth at a pace that feels right for you.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Jacksonville University and am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI). My experience includes community mental health, behavioral health, and psychiatric settings, where I've worked with adolescents, young adults, and adults. My approach is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy, recognizing that you are the expert on your own life. I integrate CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed care while incorporating your interests—whether music, sports, gaming, books, or movies—to make therapy engaging and meaningful. As an African American therapist, I value cultural identity and understand how race, family, faith, and lived experiences influence mental health. I have a special passion for men's mental health and helping clients build resilience, confidence, and lasting change in a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing happens through connection, purpose, and community. I'm passionate about strengthening individuals, families, and communities by helping people develop healthier relationships with themselves and others. I have a special interest in men's mental health and believe that supporting fathers, husbands, and young men creates stronger families and healthier communities. Outside of the therapy office, I'm an active member of the Better Dads Society and the Durkeeville Historical Society, where I support fatherhood initiatives, youth mentorship, and the preservation of local African American history. I enjoy mentoring young men and encouraging leadership, resilience, and positive identity development. I value integrity, compassion, accountability, cultural awareness, and lifelong learning, and I strive to create a welcoming space where every client feels respected, understood, and empowered to pursue meaningful change.
