About My Clients
I love working with neurodivergent folks (specifically ADHDers, Autistic folks, & Highly Sensitive People / Empaths) to help them understand and embrace their unique wiring. Many people who work with me are longing to gain more clarity about their neurotype, emotions, body sensations, and sense of belonging in the world. When we are able to understand ourselves more fully, this creates more balance in ease in our relationships, choices, and lives.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic style is warm, nonjudgmental, curious, collaborative, and creative. My training is in EMDR, somatic therapy, nature therapy / Ecopsychology, Neurodivergent Affirming therapy, mindfulness, & non-violent communication. I received my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling with a focus in Transpersonal Nature Therapy from Naropa University in Boulder, CO. I also have experience working in end of life care, which informs my capacity to support people going through grief, loss, and major transitions. I believe wholeheartedly in each person’s capacity to heal from trauma, cultivate a meaningful existence, and embrace who they truly are. My role is to be a compassionate and discerning guide, challenging limiting beliefs and unhelpful patterns when necessary. Therapy can be a welcoming environment that invites learning, acceptance, and personal growth. I am passionate about taking the time and energy to understand people so that I can provide genuine, attuned support.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that each of us has the capacity to heal, find meaning, and have authentic connection in our lives. I believe that most mental health challenges stem from unmet needs or a lack of resources (whether internal or external). I am committed to anti-oppressive therapy, and I welcome individuals of all gender identities, sexual identities, ethnicities, backgrounds, etc. Outside of my therapy practice, I spend most of my time enjoying nature, connecting with loved ones, and volunteering. I volunteer as an Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) facilitator in Colorado prisons, leading workshops focused on non-violent communication, respect for self and others, community building, etc. I also volunteer at the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless. I am passionate about creating welcoming spaces for people to get their basic needs met while being acknowledged and supported. I also co-facilitate Death Cafes - a community space to explore death, mortality, grief, and existential questions.
