About My Clients

I frequently have the opportunity to work with people who struggle with feeling “good enough”, who struggle with feeling like they are “doing enough”, or who struggle with turning their brains off. More specifically, I specialize in working with individuals seeking support due to anxiety-based concerns (including OCD), depression, self-worth struggles, perfectionism, trauma recovery, and stress management. I also specialize in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community.

My Background and Approach

Following a significant career transition a few years back, (I spent 5 years in the oil & gas industry before channeling my passions into mental health), I have worked in several therapeutic settings including private practice, psychiatric hospital units, nonprofits, and school systems. My therapy approach is informed by a variety of advanced training in trauma resilience, and I utilize several evidence-based therapy techniques, such as CBT (including ERP), DBT, mindfulness-based techniques, and EMDR. That being said, my diverse clinical background has taught me the importance of holistic and individualized approaches, which means I will meet you where you are at. We will work together to find solutions that work for you right now and create a plan together to support you as you move forward in your life. Providing culturally appropriate and trauma-informed care is also extremely important to me, and I am currently a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (CCTS).

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have a compassionate, understanding approach and strive to help others feel at ease. I know how scary it can be to seek help. I used to think my problems were not “bad enough” for therapy or that I “should” be able to figure this all out on my own. As it turns out, therapy helped me unlearn some of these unhelpful beliefs and truly improved my relationships with others and with myself, among other things. Sometimes the hardest part is taking the first step. Regardless of what brought you here, therapy is an incredible space to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, help you move forward from past painful experiences, and help you make meaningful changes in your life. Things really can and will get better. Please reach out to me for a complimentary phone consultation so we can create the space you deserve to figure out what’s next.
