About My Clients

I work with those who are emerging from grief and trauma. I often work with individuals who feel "stuck" and fear they are broken and yet have a deep desire to heal. My clients have expressed that they appreciate my warmth and authentic desire to learn and understand their world, balanced with direction and insight. Throughout the process I will teach you how to go deep without getting lost, trust your gut, and find the path to what you most need.

My Background and Approach

I have a Masters in Counseling from St. Edwards University and am a certified NARM therapist. My therapeutic career started at Austin’s Center for Grief and Loss and I was a PRN for Seton Hospital's dual diagnosis outpatient program. I've come to learn that we need more than traditional talk therapy to move through grief and trauma - we need an embodied approach engaging the mind, body, and spirit. For the past decade I've trained in somatic and attachment oriented approaches that focus on releasing stored trauma and restoring vitality. I have a passion for working with adults of adoption as I am adopted and study how our earliest experiences influence our relationships to ourselves and others. I wasn't always a therapist - I've worked for the arts, non-profits, and corporate America. These experiences help me support the diverse strengths and resources each client brings with them. I continue to express in my creativity through photography, acting, and design.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

We have this idea that knowing the “why” - something we all seem to be chasing - will free us, but often when we discover the why it doesn’t lead to the deep change we’re seeking. Trauma splits us apart and turns us away from our authentic self - it robs us of our innate path to healing. Grief can draw us in to a lonely, isolated place where our emotions threaten to overcome us like waves. We need a strong container and safe place to experience and restore our thoughts, emotions, and body. Therapy offers more than coping skills, it offers a state of being which allows movement, connection, and release. I am passionate about my work as I have intimate knowledge that we are built to heal.
