About My Clients

I work with motivated, hard working teens through adults who are struggling with disconnection, self criticism, and overwhelm and want to feel more embodied and emotionally in control so they’re looking for a mindful therapist who values authentic expression and helps them develop an action plan for change that is holistic and sustainable.

My Background and Approach

Licensed since 2005, I have worked as a high school counselor and in community mental health clinics with adults and families. I specialize in working with anxiety, trauma, body image and major life transitions and believe in the power of movement, exercise and breathwork to aid in healing along with talk therapy. I am a certified fitness instructor in barre, yoga, and Nia, a dance fusion practice that emphasizes cardio conditioning and self healing. I have extensive training in trauma and sandtray as well as CBT and mindfulness based stress reduction. Let go of old thought patterns and behaviors that are holding you back and robbing you of your daily joy. Plug into your own energy source and reignite your light through the power of your breath. Talk therapy is useful, and along with learning to tap into the breath and body, you can access your inner strength and make lasting change to become your fullest, richest self. Step into your body and reclaim your life!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that having a healthy relationship with your body is the key to lasting happiness. So many times when we are struggling with anxiety, life challenges, parenting, or traumatic situations we turn to unhealthy coping methods that take a toll on our bodies. This often leads to feelings of guilt and body shame and sets us up for a cycle of self-loathing that only makes all our other problems feel insurmountable. I know, I've been there. After years of existing in this cycle I stepped into a dance studio and began moving. Through movement, I learned to be my own "sensation scientist" and tap into what I was really feeling. The more I befriended my body, the more my moods improved. Since 2011, I have continued to dance regularly and now teach a weekly Nia Cardio Dance class. Not only have I healed my relationship with my body, I have learned to calm my nervous system for better emotional regulation. For me, movement is therapy and I am passionate about helping others find their joy.
