About My Clients
If you feel shocked, devastated, lost, or numb from losing a significant person, you are not alone and you are trying your best. Grief is a painful experience. It can bring an additional challenge if you are a teen or a young adult as you are developing a worldview and understanding of yourself and the world around you. You might want to sweep your loss under the rug so that you could be "normal." If this is you, I hear and see you. I look forward to supporting you wholeheartedly.
My Background and Approach
While my practice is inspired by different types of therapy, I take pride in having a positive and collaborative relationship with my clients. It is important for me to curate a trusting space for you to feel seen and heard in your strength and your vulnerability. I'd like to meet you where you are because your healing journey is uniquely yours. I would feel grateful to be a witness and guide to your transformation. I have experience providing culturally sensitive care to clients who are immigrants from China and Vietnam. I co-facilitated a group for Chinese-speaking clients to explore their immigration stories, cope with immigration-related grief/loss, and thrive in the new culture. I also have experience providing affirmative care to LGBTQ+ and gender non-conforming clients during their alignment journey to reduce suicidality and/or self-harm and to improve their support system (either within their family, friends, or chosen family).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an immigrant and first-generation college student, I feel deeply about the unique challenges and stressors of code-switch from one culture to another in order to fit in. The experience of "otherness" feels significantly isolating and leaves one questioning their "enoughness." Therefore, I feel strongly about ensuring that my clients feel whole and seen in their identities, as immigrant, queer, or BIPOC.
