About My Clients
Hello there, I’m a trauma-informed therapist based in Seattle. I love working with people healing from past trauma, learning to befriend & honor their bodies, and growing out of anxiety & into self-confidence. Sometimes it feels crazy-making how much of our patterns of behavior happen without us even choosing it. Therapy gives you the chance to look into those patterns with curiosity and good company. In that safe space, you can then decide what's worth keeping and what you might like to shift.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is relational, attachment focused, and attuned to the connection between the mind and the body. Folks describe me as warm and attentive, and I’m certainly not against utilizing the healing power of laughter! I’m fascinated by how neuroscience and attachment shape how we think and feel. I let these principles guide everything I do as a therapist. I focused on healing from trauma and abuse in my studies, and love walking with people as they explore the systems that have shaped them: family relationships, systemic oppression, religious contexts, cultural values…the list is long. And I think they all matter. I believe going to therapy is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. We often opt for the more obvious routes first: denial, avoidance, minimization… I’m here for the folks who have been there and are tired of feeling stuck. Healing is possible, and I'd be honored to walk alongside you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
An anchoring goal for me is to be less afraid of our own minds. We don't think or feel anything for absolutely no reason, so leaning in, even into those uncomfortable emotions we would like to deny or ignore, will lead to more growth, understanding, and peace. I'm always about offering more tenderness and kindness to our systems, because we are the way we are for a reason. I also believe freedom begets freedom, so as you begin to embrace and understand more of yourself, a domino effect of healing begins. I am a queer woman who practices body acceptance, is attuned to systemic oppression, and is passionate about learning to listen to our bodies. I place lots of value in the goodness of fit between therapist and client, so I will encourage you in your journey of finding the right care for you, even if that isn't with me. Congrats on beginning or continuing your search!
