My Background and Approach

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 8 years of experience, I am committed to supporting individuals on their journey towards healing and personal growth. I specialize in addressing LGBTQIA+ issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, suicidal thoughts, and self harm utilizing evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavioral Skills, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP) to help clients navigate the complexities of their experiences and reclaim a sense of empowerment. My therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, understanding, and client collaboration. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences freely. Through a strengths-based perspective, I work collaboratively with clients to identify their unique strengths and resources, empowering them to overcome obstacles and cultivate resilience.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone can I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. I don't believe that there is a limit to human capacity. I think the main reason we develop mental health issues is because they are unhealthy learned behaviors that we have picked up along the way. Which means that I think you can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthier ones. I also recognize the barriers that societal systems have created and the cycle of power society holds on others. I believe change and growth is much more than just "thinking happy". I have my own lived experience with mental health issues at the intersection of religion and sexual identity. These experiences have helped guide me as a therapist and I now want to help others overcome similar barriers with effective skills to empower themselves.
