About My Clients
If you are experiencing a sense of being stuck in any area of your life, unexplained body sensations, chronic illness, or nightmares, we might be a great fit! The people I get to walk with are committed to the therapeutic process because they want to do, feel, and be better. Oftentimes people who find me are operating from a broken thought process that was initiated during a rough season. That thought can become a weed - choking off the life of the heart.
My Background and Approach
On my way to earning my MA in Counseling from Colorado Christian University, my practicum was completed at Mountain States Children's Home and there I began to connect with at-risk youth from all walks of life. Internship was in two very different environments - a drug and alcohol treatment facility and a faith based private practice. Due to my desire to offer an approach that addresses the root of the issue in a deep integrative way, I became a brainspotting practitioner. As I received my own brainspotting therapy, I witnessed first-hand how the brain and body make connections resulting in deeper healing and freedom from triggers and symptoms. This integrative brain-body work can be effective in those who are feeling stuck or who are seeking a gentle alternative to traditional talk therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
This is a crazy world we live in and everyone needs a little extra support from time to time. Sometimes just having a soft place to fall where you are seen, heard, and understood without judgement can be very healing and restorative. Relationship and attachment are key components to healing and it takes time to build trust. I believe that no one is beyond hope and if you feel you are an exception, then I will hold onto hope for you until you can hold it for yourself. I steer clear of using labels for people and my view of others is not pathological or diagnostic. You are not your symptom, feelings, or diagnoses. You have a beautiful purpose for your life, and you carry deep resilience and strength (even if you can't see it.) I learn so much from the people I get to walk with, and I continue to lean into doing my own work with my counselor so that I can show up in an optimal way for others.
