I have worked in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit providing support and counseling to families of babies born with medical challenges and families experiencing neonatal death. For 21 years I also worked with young pregnant and parenting moms and dads. Many of these were unexpected or unplanned pregnancies, which brought about many complicated emotions and experiences. Whatever the journey, all persons deserve support and the necessary tools to help them through such challenges.

If you feel paralyzed by your anxiety, avoid social situations or doing things you enjoy because your anxiety doesn't allow you to do so, please know there's help for that! I help people learn techniques to help them manage unhelpful anxiety and respond to stress in effective ways. We can explore the sources of the anxiety so that it no longer controls your life.

Trauma can be the source of many people's depression. With the right help, people can manage their depression and not allow it to take over their life. I believe everyone carries the capacity to heal within. We may just need support, skilled guidance and a supportive environment that encourages our self growth and healing. I will help you focus on your strengths, what you already do that works, and help gain the skills you need to overcome your challenges.

I am trained in EMDR, which is an evidenced based therapy that has shown to be very effective in treating anxiety, depression and PTSD, among other mental health challenges.

I am bilingual and bicultural and I have first hand experience as an immigrant and a minority female. I have also received extensive training in providing culturally sensitive therapy to marginalized and minority groups.
