About My Clients
"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." ~African Proverb While my clients are highly motivated, they arrive to therapy feeling uncertain, stuck, and at a bit of loss for how to feel better. They're eager for tools, but moreso are open to therapy being a transformative process - one where we'll gradually excavate their inner well of strengths and resilience to help them navigate the realities of today...while crafting a path towards a tomorrow that feels hopeful.
My Background and Approach
After graduating from Stanford University with a liberal arts degree, I spent the next twenty years in the tech start-up world, leading creative brand teams, driving workplace culture initiatives, and coaching professionals ranging from execs to mid-managers. As a people-oriented leader, I was always passionate about helping colleagues and worker bees find meaning in their work. My passion for professional growth and human connection inspired me to earn my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, TX - a program celebrated for its progressive approach to spirituality’s role in the therapeutic process. I love helping individuals, families, couples, and professionals enrich their relationships, lives, and careers. The many years I’ve spent in fast-paced, goal-oriented environments make my therapeutic style one that organically works well with those who are curious about themselves, open to personal growth, and motivated to make progress.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value authenticity, creativity, personal growth....and laughter! I believe that we all have the potential to make our lives feel better - IF we're willing to lean in and participate. One beautiful way to do that is by having the curiosity and courage to endeavor the adventure of therapy (so kudos to you for finding your way here!). While I'm a huge fan of reading and self-reflection to learn what makes us tick, I believe that being in connection with others - whether via a family, committed relationship, team, community, or therapist - best illuminators both what makes us tick and the potential we have to grow. I believe that this combo of connection-and-reflection accelerates our ability to learn about ourselves, heal, and evolve towards a tomorrow that feels somehow better than today. And, I believe that unleashing our inner child and creativity can be a magical route to discovering a path forward that feels true and inspiring to us. ...oh, and did I mention laughter? :-)
