About My Clients
I'm very fortunate to connect with survivors of trauma (sexual, emotional, physical, neglect, abandonment), survivors of addiction, and clients that generally want to feel better in their lives and in relationships. Survivors of trauma and addiction are some of the most resilient people I have ever met, and it is a pleasure to be in their presence. Clients share with me that they have learned from me, but I too like to share that I learn so much every day from my clients and their stories.
My Background and Approach
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the states of California and Florida. I work from a trauma focused and attachment oriented perspective, supporting individuals and couples through their healing of past and current distressing events. I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Havening Techniques. These certifications mean that I’m well versed in helping you get through any traumatic experiences you’ve been through whether you experienced sexual assault, physical violence, domestic violence, medical trauma, abandonment or neglect. I feel comfortable sitting in the room with you, holding a safe space for you to share anything that you want with me, while we collaborate together to figure out a plan to support you and provide you with some relief. I'm also big on tools and offer you resources that you can take with you outside of the therapy session.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Healing is possible. As a survivor of my own past trauma, I fully believe that healing is possible. This happens with a combination of supportive therapy, a therapist you feel you can connect with, great tools, and a little bit of motivation. My goal is to support you in getting some relief, clarity, and hope that things can be different and working better in your life. I enjoy utilizing mind and body integration for both growth and healing, while also collaborating with you to cultivate balance and meeting your goals. One sub-specialization includes working with individuals in long distance partnerships. As someone who has experienced long distance, I know the unique challenges you face.
