About My Clients
We all worry about our children. We want to support and teach them the skills needed to overcome challenges so they will grow into “successful” adults. Families may go through a phase where additional support may be needed in order to get through these challenges. It takes a strong sense of self to be able to communicate what’s wrong and most children are still developing these skills.
My Background and Approach
My practice is part of a multidisciplinary pediatric clinic that provides holistic care and services to families throughout Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara Youth Therapy -www.sbyouththerapy.com In collaboration with families, I create a safe space to help develop insight into the internal challenges a child is facing while helping them build the skills they need to thrive. My work utilizes a family systems approach, CBT, neurorelational play therapy, and reflective practice. Before opening a private practice I worked in the non-profit sector for almost a decade at Casa Pacifica and CALM providing mental health services to families and early childhood mental health consultation. My additional experience has been as an early childhood educator myself as well as training in supporting neurodiverse children.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a mother of two boys, I am passionate about the mental health of our youth. I hope to support parents in reducing the stress they are trying to manage and address the increasing mental health needs in our community to build healthier families with the capacity to face todays challenges.
