About My Clients

My clients are often strong, high-functioning black women & young adults who are used to holding everything together for everyone else. But internally, they may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted. Many are navigating life transitions like pregnancy, motherhood, career shifts, or relationship changes, while also carrying the weight of past trauma, stress, or unspoken expectations. This space is for you to take a moment to focus on just you, not the weight of the world you carry.

My Background and Approach

My approach includes Trauma‑Informed Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and a Strengths‑Based Approach. I use these modalities to help clients understand their patterns, build emotional awareness, and develop practical tools that support healing and growth. Whether we’re exploring the impact of past experiences, challenging unhelpful thoughts, or strengthening communication and boundary‑setting skills, I tailor our work to meet your unique needs and goals. At the heart of my practice is a commitment to creating a collaborative, culturally responsive, and compassionate space. A space with someone, who genuinely gets it. I want my clients to feel heard, valued, and empowered to take an active role in their healing. Together, we slow down, make sense of what you’re carrying, and build the confidence and clarity needed to move toward a life that feels more aligned, grounded, and emotionally whole.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe healing is possible for everyone, no matter their story or starting point. You may be carrying patterns, survival strategies, and emotional wounds that once helped you cope, but they no longer fit who you're becoming. These patterns were learned and I believe they can be unlearned and replaced with healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. I also believe that culture, identity, and lived experience shape how we move through the world. The pressure to be strong, to succeed, or to silence your own needs doesn’t come from nowhere. It’s rooted in family, community, and the systems around us. Therapy should honor that context. I see my role as helping clients reconnect with their strengths, rewrite old narratives, and build a life that feels aligned with who they truly are. Above all, I believe in collaboration, and compassion. You don’t have to show up perfectly, and you don’t have to have everything figured out. You just have to show up, for you!
