About My Clients
My ideal client is someone who is open and ready to grow. I particularly enjoy helping folks who are struggling with life transitions, women's issues, or issues specific to the LGBTQIA+ community. I have experience working with issues including depression, grief and loss, anxiety, substance abuse, relationship issues, anxious attachment, and healing from trauma.
My Background and Approach
I've been practicing as a licensed therapist for over 2 years and practiced as a student therapist for 2 years before this. Before my time as a therapist, I worked in a variety of mental health positions including CBRS, case management, respite, victim advocacy, and wilderness therapy. After working in the mental healthcare field for the past 6 years, I have developed an eclectic approach to therapy that allows me to help individuals from a variety of backgrounds. I use a person-centered approach which means that I believe that my clients are the experts in their own lives. Although I have a master's degree, I view myself as someone who is just like you but has a variety of tools to help you with whatever you may be going through. The tools and approach I use are specifically tailored to my client's needs, and I'd be happy to share more during our first meeting or consultation. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am committed to providing you with a safe and supportive environment to help you discover how to achieve mental wellness and radical self-acceptance. I foster therapeutic relationships based on equity and compassion, and it's important to me to recognize how many of my clients' mental health concerns may come from oppressive aspects of our society.
