About My Clients
My ideal client is an adult navigating grief, anxiety, or life transitions who seeks a safe, supportive space to heal. They’re open to exploring the mind-body connection through talk therapy and restorative practices. Whether feeling emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply ready for change, they value a warm, grounded approach that honors their pace, emotions, and personal growth.
My Background and Approach
I’m Heather R. Taylor, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate based in Houston, supervised by Victoria Jones, MEd, MA, LPC-S. My approach integrates cognitive behavioral therapy with mindfulness and somatic practices, offering clients a compassionate, grounded space to heal. I work with adults navigating grief, anxiety, relationship challenges, and life transitions. In addition to counseling, I’m a registered yoga teacher and founder of Mindful Balance Yoga, where I lead restorative and grief-informed classes. I believe healing happens when we connect mind, body, and breath, and I bring that philosophy into my work with clients. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply seeking clarity, I meet you where you are—with warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for your process. My goal is to help you reconnect with yourself, find balance, and move forward with greater ease.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the resilience of the human spirit and the power of safe, compassionate connection to foster healing. My work is rooted in the values of authenticity, empathy, and respect for each person’s unique journey. As someone who has personally experienced the complexities of adoption, foster care, and grief, I bring both professional insight and lived understanding to my practice. These experiences have deepened my commitment to walking alongside others with openness and humility. I am passionate about supporting those who feel unseen, overwhelmed, or lost in transition. I value the integration of mind and body in the healing process and advocate for practices that honor both emotional and physical well-being. Whether in the therapy room or on the mat, I strive to create a space where people feel empowered to explore, express, and embrace who they are—without judgment and at their own pace.
