My Background and Approach
I have been successful in supporting young adults, caregivers, single parents, working professionals, students, and people in recovery navigating trauma histories, mental health and substance use related challenges, often compounded by systemic stressors including internalized identity-related burdens shaped by familial and societal expectations. Many of my clients are BIPOC, LGBTQ+/gender non-conforming/non-binary, Hispanic/Latinx, Multicultural, and/or neurodivergent. My 8+ years experience working in community mental health, lived experience and background in Philosophy informs my approach that integrates psychiatric rehabilitation and psychotherapy with a coaching edge, drawing on insight-oriented, trauma-informed, strengths-based and cultural-relational frameworks. If you're looking for therapy that feels more like partnership than performance let's talk - no pressure or perfection required.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a clinician with many intersecting identities, including being Afro Latinx, my lived experience as a gender-nonconforming clinician is foundational to my therapeutic practice. I am passionate about creating safe, non-judgmental spaces for people to explore their identities and navigate internal, interpersonal, familial and systemic challenges. I am personally and professionally invested in providing compassionate, identity-affirming psychotherapy. I believe ealing happens in relationships that remind you "who you were before the world told you who to be". You've carried so much for so long that even rest feels like work. Let's focus on the real work: moving from surviving to self-re-defining. You hold the answers and set the pace - I'll help you find the path and trust it.
