About My Clients
If you are experiencing thoughts and feelings of ambivalence regarding substance use and emotional health, I can provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for you to work through them. Issues that I treat are substance use disorders as well as anxiety & depression, bipolar disorders, and life transitions.
My Background and Approach
I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance & commitment therapy in order to notice thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns. By gaining awareness of these patterns, individuals can work to change them and I will support you in this journey of exploration. My practice has evolved to accept and honor the various paths that people choose in their recovery journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I support those who are marginalized and oppressed as well as those who struggle to access opportunities and resources. I developed an interest in social welfare, social justice, and prison reform while in college. I also saw the impact substance use had on my community and my peers throughout high school and college. As a result of these combined experiences, I chose my profession of clinical social work. “When a man is denied the right to live the life he believes in, he has no choice but to become an outlaw.” ― Nelson Mandela
