About My Clients
My goal is to contribute to the healing process of individuals holding marginalized identities. I am seeking individuals looking to integrate practical skills, effect change, improve quality of life, and perhaps heal wounds inherited through generational trauma.
My Background and Approach
I am a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor and Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center (CCJTDC), where I facilitate mental health care services to pre-adjudicated youth and supervise doctoral externs. I hold a Master of Science degree in Community Counseling from National-Louis University, a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Adler University, and a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Adler University. I am currently completing licensure hours and expect to sit for the Illinois State licensure exam by end of 2022. Over the last decade, I have had the pleasure of working with clients of all ages, who have struggled to manage life stressors and mental health concerns like depression, anxiety, anger, relationships, grief/loss & trauma. I have provided diagnostic testing, risk assessments, and therapy (individual/group) to clients within forensic settings, psychiatric hospital, school/university, & residential facilities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all clients have a capacity for change, which occurs gradually and at their individual pace. Thus, my approach to treatment involves a collaborative relationship that facilitates adequate care, while promoting autonomy and maintaining privacy and dignity.
