About My Clients

I work with a very diverse group of clients, and I love that. Within the field of trauma treatment in particular, there is so much beautiful variety. However, due to my particular style, approach and specialty, I find that I connect particularly well with clients aged 18-45, women/trans/gender-fluid individuals, seeking empowerment-focused therapy, to address trauma, anxiety, and stress.

My Background and Approach

I specialize in trauma, anxiety, and stress management, particularly for women in all stages of life. After completing my Masters degree in social work, I recognized that I needed to have diverse clinical experiences in order to be a competent trauma therapist, because trauma can happen to anyone, and can overlap with so many other issues. From mobile therapy with people in active addiction, to overnight shifts in rural emergency rooms, to the Dept of Veterans Affairs, and then on to private practice, I have worked to create an approach that prioritizes empowerment and compassion for my clients. I integrate a blend of evidence based approaches pulling from logic-based, cognitive psychotherapy, somatic psychotherapy that encourages healing in the body, and feminist and empowerment theories, to create a treatment plan that is designed just for you. With every client, I strive to be warm, welcoming, and genuine, and I am accepting of all people, regardless of who you are.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a passionate advocate for social justice, and I strive to be an ally for the LGBTQIA+ community and BIPOC. I believe Black Lives Matter, and I strive to create a space that is safe for all. I am a feminist and a vocal advocate for survivors of trauma and sexual assault. I am a trauma survivor. I am the founder and director of the Therapy for Therapists Collective, which is a nonprofit that strives to reduce burnout for mental health providers working with under-served communities, by improving access to professional trainings, as well as access to a network of pro bono psychotherapy and support groups for their own mental well-being.
